1. WGT Leipzig 2024
The Wave-Gotik-Treffen (WGT) in Leipzig is one of the world's largest festivals for the dark wave scene.
It all began in 1992 with a small gathering of friends in downtown Leipzig. At that time, the WGT was still a insider tip for fans of the scene. But over the years, the festival has evolved into an international event with over 20,000 visitors. The WGT offers a wide range of music, from dark wave and EBM to gothic rock, NDH, and medieval music. In addition to concerts, there is also an extensive fringe program with readings, exhibitions, theater performances, and much more. It's a place where fans can come together to enjoy their music, socialize, and make new friends. The WGT 2024 promises to be a very special experience. Confirmed bands for the 2024 line-up include Ladytron with an exclusive performance in Germany, Nemuer, Årabrot, Camerata Mediolanense, Chain of Flowers, Hope, Blitzkid, Christian Death, Klutae, Tiamat, Clouds & Wildhoney-Set, The Bellweather Syndicate, Agent Side Grinder, Zweite Jugend, Ashbury Heights, and Primordial. The Wave-Gotik-Treffen (WGT) in Leipzig is one of the world's largest festivals for the dark wave scene. Upcoming SIngle
It's an exciting time for me as I've just released "Stripped" - a reinterpretation of the iconic song by Depeche Mode. Your support and resonance mean the world to me, and I'm thrilled to announce that I'll have another release on May 24th!
"Trapped Forever" - a completely original composition that takes you on a journey through the depths of your own emotions. This single explores the feeling of being trapped, the prison we often construct for ourselves. Here's a sneak peek: ![]()
3. "PROJECT PITCHFORK – Elysium" - Review
Dark sounds, personal lyrics, and a message of hope: Project Pitchfork return with "Elysium" and deliver an emotionally gripping album.
Musically, they move in familiar territory, but at the same time sound more personal than ever before. The new nuances and surprises provide a varied listening experience. Lyrically, it's about the big themes of life: love, loss, hope and impermanence. Peter Spilles processes his very personal experiences and thoughts in the songs. Particularly touching are the ballads like "Learning To Live" and "Melancholia", which convey a deep melancholy and at the same time a certain lightness. But critical tones are also not neglected. In "Isolation" and "Blind Mice" the band denounces the inaction of humanity in the face of the climate crisis. "Elysium" is an album that makes you think and gives you courage at the same time. It shows us that even in the darkest of times there is still hope. Conclusion: A strong album from Project Pitchfork that will delight fans and newcomers alike. |
