Wthin Temptation is a Dutch symphonic metal band that was formed in 1996 by vocalist Sharon den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt. The band's music combines elements of symphonic metal, gothic metal, and rock, featuring orchestral arrangements, choir vocals, and powerful guitar riffs. Their music is often described as epic, emotional, and cinematic.
The band gained popularity in the early 2000s with their albums "Mother Earth" and "The Silent Force", which featured hit singles such as "Ice Queen" and "Stand My Ground". They have since released several more albums, including "The Heart of Everything", "The Unforgiving", and "Hydra". Over the years, Within Temptation has gone through several lineup changes, with Sharon den Adel and Robert Westerholt remaining as the core members. They have collaborated with various artists, including Tarja Turunen, Anneke van Giersbergen, and Jacoby Shaddix. In addition to their music, Within Temptation is also known for their elaborate live performances, which often feature pyrotechnics, elaborate costumes, and stage props. They have also toured extensively throughout Europe, North America, and Asia. 3. Review "Subway to Sally - Himmelfahrt"
After a four-year break, Subway To Sally are back with their new album "Himmelfahrt." The band, pioneers in the fusion of medieval sounds and hard rock, has had an impressive career spanning over 30 years. They have paved the way for similar bands such as In Extremo and Saltatio Mortis, and have become increasingly popular, with each of their new albums reaching the German Top 10 in the last 20 years.
However, the pandemic caught Subway To Sally off guard, and they had to re-evaluate their new material, which was deemed too dark and dystopian. Instead, they chose to focus on writing optimistic songs about hope and new beginnings, reflected in the album's title, "Himmelfahrt," which represents a clear departure from their previous album, "Hey!" Subway To Sally's new songs are about setting out on journeys and helping others out of dark places into the light, celebrating hope and optimism. The band's musical direction remains the same, with energetic and aggressive tracks like "Leinen los" and "Ihr kriegt uns nie" already released as singles. "Himmelfahrt" promises to be the perfect mix of the band's trademark sound and fresh innovations. |
