1. "Priest - Dark Pulse" - Review
Descending into Electrified Bliss
Emerging from the depths of Berlin's underground scene in 2010, Priest has carved their own unique path in the electronic music landscape. Their debut album, "New Flesh" (2017), sparked curiosity upon the revelation of former members of metal giants Ghost in their ranks. Yet, Priest is far from their past. Shrouded in secrecy, the trio performs under aliases – Mercury on vocals, Salt and Sulphur on keyboards and programming – all concealed behind enigmatic BDSM masks. Simon Söderberg, once known as Ghost guitarist Alpha, lends his production expertise, completing the enigmatic Priest machine. With releases like the EP "Obey" (2019), the LP "Cyberhead" (2020), and "Body Machine" (2022), Priest built upon their early success, captivating audiences with their dark, addictive blend of synthpop. Industrial and electro-dance elements permeate their sound, an auditory concoction that would ignite the soul of any goth and leave fans of Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, and Soft Cell yearning for more. Now, in 2024, Priest expands their dark electronic dominion with their latest opus: "Dark Pulse". "Dark Pulse" emerges as their most enthralling work to date. While their previous albums established a distinct and captivating atmosphere, "Dark Pulse" raises the bar even higher. The essence of "Dark Pulse" remains undeniably dark and seductive, reminiscent of their earlier works. Yet, beneath the surface, a new energy crackles. Pulsating beats captivate attention, and the production is so vibrant that it will lure even the most hesitant listener onto the dance floor. 2. Upcoming SIngle
Fresh sounds, driving beats and a message that goes deep into your soul - all this is combined in my new remix of the song "Mainstreamwelt" by Matthias Monka, the "Piano Man of the North".
Matthias Monka and I met last year and hit it off right away. I listened to his music at home and was immediately fascinated by his song "Mainstreamwelt". At first for pure fun, I sat down to a synth-pop remix of the piano song "Mainstreamwelt". When I sent it to Matthias Monka, he was very enthusiastic and we decided to sing the song together and release it. "Mainstreamwelt" speaks to my deepest need to free myself from the constraints of conformity and live my own individuality. In a world that constantly tells us how we should be and think, it's refreshing to hear an anthem that celebrates the uniqueness of each individual. Stay tuned, release date is June 21st! Until then, here's a little snippet from the remix:
