The release is on May 3rd, 2024! A few months ago I released a cover of "Boys Don't Cry" and since then I've been asked frequently if I would cover a song again. What can I say, the time has come! But hear for yourself! The release is on May 3rd, 2024! 2. The Prodigy:
Legends, icons, firestarters - the story continues The Prodigy: A Name That Echoes Like Thunder in the World of Electronic Music
Firestarters of the Electronic Revolution: Emerging as rave pioneers in the early 90s, The Prodigy quickly shattered all boundaries with their unique blend of techno, breakbeat, and rock. Hits like "Charly," "Firestarter," and "Breathe" catapulted them into the mainstream and cemented their status as legends. A Tragic Chapter: In 2019, the music world was shaken by the news of the charismatic singer Keith Flint's death. The future of the band was uncertain. Continuing On to Honor Keith's Legacy: After a period of mourning and reflection, the remaining members Liam Howlett and Maxim Reality decided to continue. They see it as their duty to preserve Keith's memory and carry on the energy of The Prodigy. New Music and Live Shows: In 2023, they released their seventh studio album, "The Day Is My Enemy," to critical and fan acclaim. But who took over the vocals? On the studio album:
The Prodigy's live shows are legendary. With raw power and an explosive mix of light, sound, and visuals, they blur the lines between stage and audience. The band's remaining members want to keep that alive.
How will it work out and be received? - I'm excited! 3. Interview "Adelheid Aderlass"
1. "Adelheid Aderlass" is a rather bloody project name. How much does the name have to do with your music and the topics you write about?
Adelheid was or is the name of my great-grandmother and means something like "noble figure"; Aderlass (bloodletting) was a method of blood purification in which blood was gradually taken from a person so that the body could produce fresh, healthy blood to replace it. The combination of these two words is meant to be a metaphor in which one constantly washes oneself clean by releasing one's inner emotional world, but always strives to do so in a noble and benevolent way. Emphasis on "tries". 2. It is a solo project that performs as a duo on stage. How did you come to the decision to write the music alone? My partner prefers to write his own songs alone, so each of us has our own project and supports the other on stage. Apart from the fact that Adelheid Aderlass has not yet made it to the stage, which I hope will change soon. 3. In August 2023 you released your single "Tut mir nicht leid" (I'm Not Sorry). What is this song about? The song "Tut mir nicht Leid" is about toxic masculinity and a sick but emotionally understandable way of fighting back against it. I don't think I need to say more than that if you read the lyrics. I'm not saying that it's the right way to do it, but I just want to portray the situation of domestic violence and the fact that sometimes death is the only way to eradicate mental illness once and for all. I leave it open as to what happens to the lyrical "I" in this case after killing the toxic man. But in most cases, this person would probably end up in a psychiatric ward, with no prospect of a serious attempt at healing and care. After all, we are talking about a cold-blooded murderer, not a victim of domestic violence anymore. (!) 4. What inspired you to write a song with such a dark and gruesome theme? Toxic relationships simply disgust me, as they are probably the biggest causes of psychological damage besides war trauma. And because the children of such relationships inevitably inherit the damage, it is like a vicious circle that is very difficult to break. So much suffering could be prevented if psychology were taught in schools, as children would then at least learn what is harmful and what is healthy self-reflection. Only then can a healthier society develop over several generations. And that is exactly what drives my lyrics in many songs. 5. In my opinion, one of your really impressive songs is "Nicht sein" (Not Being). The desire "not not to be" and "not to be me" points to an inner conflict. Can you tell me more about what these lines mean to you and how they are connected to your own search for identity? I think many people wish they could just not exist for a short while in this world. All the hustle and bustle, the ever-increasing number of people, the traffic, the chaos, the corruption, the injustice. It can be hard sometimes not to lose your temper or drift off completely in your thoughts for your own protection. But on the other hand, there is the natural will to survive, the handful of loving people you have by your side and the mission to find spiritual enlightenment before death. ... and how one now becomes a disappointed adult from a hopeful child. That's what the song "Nichtsein" is about. 6. What are your plans for this year with your project "Adelheid Aderlass"? I'm definitely planning to make our live debut this year, even if it's just in our small local pub! Otherwise, I'm not a fan of making resolutions, because then you can't disappoint yourself ;) 4. "Hell Boulevard - Requiem" Review
Dark melodies, powerful vocals, and orchestral opulence:
With their new album "Requiem", Hell Boulevard takes us on a journey through the shadow world of love, loss, and rebirth. The album opens with the energetic "Not Another Lovesong", followed by the driving single "She Just Wanna Dance". Depth and variety: Depth and melancholy can be found in songs like "The Monster" and "Messed Up", while "Rollercoaster" invites you to sing along with its catchy chorus. A special highlight is the successful combination of hard guitar riffs and powerful drums with orchestral elements. Goosebumps moments: Songs like "Guillotine" and "I Got What I Want But I Lost What I Had" Conclusion: "Requiem" is a varied and multi-layered album that takes the listener on an emotional roller coaster ride. 5. Competition!
